Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Name, email address, and password when you register. Optional profile details you choose to provide.
• Event and league content. Information organizers create (event names, schedules, fields, divisions, scores) and information participants submit when registering (names, team rosters, emails when provided).
• Payment information. If you buy a plan or collect entry fees, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive billing status, plan, and related identifiers—not your full card number.
• Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and approximate timestamps, used to operate and secure the service.
• Communications. Messages you send us (for example support emails) and transactional emails we send you (confirmations, schedule updates, password resets).

2. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve Competitor HQ (scheduling, registration, scores, billing).
• Authenticate accounts and send service-related notices.
• Process subscriptions and platform fees; enable organizers to collect entry fees via Stripe Connect.
• Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, or security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use participant or organizer data to train third-party advertising models.

3. When information is shared

• Public event pages. Information organizers publish (schedules, brackets, standings, scores, and typically competitor or team names) may be visible to anyone with the link.
• Organizers you register with. When you join an event or league, the organizer and their invited administrators can see your registration details for that competition.
• Service providers. We use vendors to host the app, send email, and process payments (including Stripe). They may process data only to provide those services to us.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Competitor HQ, our users, or others.

4. Payments (Stripe)

Card and bank details for subscriptions and entry fees are collected and stored by Stripe under Stripe’s privacy policy. Competitor HQ stores related account and transaction references needed to fulfill purchases, payouts, and support. See stripe.com/privacy.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, security, and basic application function. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy.

6. Data retention

We keep account and competition data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account; some records (for example billing history or information an organizer still needs for a past event) may be retained where required.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data (encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children’s privacy

Competitor HQ is aimed at organizers and adult users who manage or register for competitions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your choices

• Update your name and email from your account settings where available.
• Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing us (subject to legal and operational limits).
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails if we send them; transactional mail related to your account or events may still be sent.

10. International users

The service may be hosted in the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other locations where we or our providers operate.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
